I found a male Black-backed Woodpecker this morning at 9:00 am at Jack Pine Trail. The bird was in the trees a short distance (30m) down the trail to the OFN bird feeder. He was showing a bright yellow cap.
Jack Pine Trail is on Moodie Drive about 1 km south of Hunt Club West. The parking lot is P9 in the Stony Swamp area. The trail is easily accessible on foot. Brian Brian Mortimer 964 Normandy Cresc.
