Posted with permission of the Mark Cranford. I had the good fortune to meet a young Taiwanese Master's student (Roy Chen) while in Taiwan recently. He is working on his thesis and as part of his research has developed an interesting questionnaire aimed at trying to determine why birders travel long distances to see birds. He has asked if I can circulate this to the Ontario birding community.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. The survey questionnaire can be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/birders. It isn't necessary to have ever been to Taiwan to complete the survey. Please go online and complete the survey. These results will be collated with others from around the world to get a better picture of why the birding community travels to sees birds. It will obviously also help Mr. Chen with his research.
