May 24  -  Starting at Rock Point Provencal Park (which is 30  miles east 
of Fort Erie, Ontario, and Buffalo, NY, at the source of the Niagara  River) 
and working along the North Shore of Lake Erie back to Fort Erie the  
following birds were observed:
 
Rock Point P. P. 
EURASIAN WIGEON  (paired with an American Wigeon)
41 Dunlin
6 Ruddy Turnstone
18 Semipalmated Sandpiper
White-rumped Sandpiper
80 Bonaparte's Gulls
1,100 Double-crested Cormorants
about 900 Barn Swallows, 700 Tree Swallows, and 300 N. Rough-winged  
Swallows
2 Common Mergansers
18 Red-breasted Mergansers
 
Making a short detour form Rock Poit going north on Downy Rd. 2 Km and  
turning left on Rhymer Road about 1 KM to Mosaic Ponds 2 Semipalmated Plovers, 
6  Semipalmated Sandpipers, a large Swan I identified as a TRUMPETER SWAN,  
Green-winged Teal, a pair of Blue-winged Teal
