Hi Everyone
Spent most of the day birding the Ottawa River between Shirley's Bay and
Britannia. With good birding weather conditions, intermittent rain and a low
cloud ceiling, it was great. The highlight of the day was an adult Long-tailed
Jaeger flying west off Andrew Haydon Park harassing a Common Tern at 3:00pm.
It continued west up the river and disappear. Other birds of note included
earlier in the day included 17 (2 ad., 15 juv.) Bonaparte's Gull off Andrew
Haydon Park, 22, (20 ad., 2 juv) Caspian Tern at Deschenes Rapids, 7( 1 ad, 6
juv.) Black Tern at Deschenes Rapids, 1 juv Baird's Sandpiper, 2 juv.
Short-billed Dowitcher at Andrew Haydon Park, 1 juv. Stilt Sandpiper at
Shirley's Bay, 3 breeding plumage Black-bellied Plover, 8 juv. Semipalmated
Plover at Andrew Haydon Park, 2 ad. Bald Eagle at Shirley's Bay along with 1

Good birding,
Bruce
