The best bird of the week was a JAEGER (species undetermined) off
Prince Edward County. YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, BLUE-HEADED VIREO,
SWAINSON'S and GREY-CHEKED THRUSHES, AMERICAN PIPIT, RUBY-CROWNED and
some GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS were all on the move. Warbler numbers
seem to have dropped off, but diversity is still pretty fair.

City of Kingston
HERMIT THRUSH, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, CANADA WARBLER and LEAST
FLYCATCHER were all reported from the Marshlands Conservation Area.

Amherstview Sewage Lagoons
The lagoons haven't been overly favourable for shorebirds lately, but
GREATER and LESSER YELLOWLEGS and LEAST SANDPIPER were all reported.
In terms of waterfowl there were GADWALL, LESSER SCAUP, NORTHERN
SHOVELER and a REDHEAD. Please note that you must be a KFN member or
otherwise get permission from the municipality to access the sewage
lagoons.

Opinicon Road
PIED-BILLED GREBE, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, BARRED OWL, RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCH, BROWN CREEPER, NORTHERN PARULA, CHESTNUT-SIDED,
BLACK-AND-WHITE and BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, SCARLET TANAGER and FIELD
SPARROW were all noted at Queen's University Biological Station but
not elsewhere.

Prince County
The point had a good assortment of birds including WHITE-WINGED
SCOTER, MERLIN, GREEN HERON, RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, EASTERN
TOWHEE, BROWN THRASHER, GREY CATBIRD, PHILADELPHIA VIREO, AMERICAN
REDSTART, 1 MOURNING, WILSON'S, CAPE MAY and MAGNOLIA WARBLERS as well
as 1 YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER. A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was at South
Bay in the eastern part of Prince Edward County. Also at South Bay,
was an unidentified JAEGER (Sep 16).

Other Observations
The pond on the west side of Perth Road just north of Glenburnie
hosted 1-3 GREAT EGRETS among other water birds. A HORNED LARK was at
the same location. There was a WINTER WREN at Rock Dunder. PALM and
NASHVILLE WARBLERS as well as OVENBIRD and WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were
at Jones Falls. BLACKBURNIAN and TENNESSEE WARBLERS, WARBLING VIREO
and EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE were reported near Elgin, but nowhere else this
past week. A BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER was reported from Charleston
Lake Provincial Park. An EASTERN WHIP-POOR-WILL and a RUBY-THROATED
HUMMINGBIRD were near Elginburg. An additional 3 EASTERN
WHIP-POOR-WILLS were still singing near Westport. A SNOW GOOSE was
seen near Bath.
