At the Alfred Sewage Lagoons today at around 3:30 pm there was a juvenile
GWFG with hundreds of Canada Geese and one Snow Goose. It was larger than a
Mallard but smaller than a Canada. No white front was showing yet, but it
should develop it this winter. Its bill and feet were dull yellow. I guess
it could potentially have been a Graylag (barnyard) Goose.

To get to the lagoons from Alfred, which is 40 minutes east of Ottawa on
HIghway 17, drive south along Peat Moss Road, which is on the east edge of
the village, for 1-2 km. The lagoons parking lot is on your left as is a
sign welcoming birders!
