Seen the first Northern Shrike in South Lake Simcoe today and yesterday around midday (Friday and Saturday December 6 and 7). In Scott Township, the bird can be found hunting the farm fields and hedgerows 2 km. east of the York/Durham line a half km. north of the railway tracks, on the Zephyr Road. The bird was approachable slowly by car flying casually from perch to perch.
