Noonish - 03.04.14
Melt-down and winter's siege is over - the birds have come back to the pond : 
Bufflehead, Black Duck, Mallard, Pintail :  Common and Red-breasted Merganser 
dive in an open lead -  a couple of Trumpeter Swans make a flyby, a female 
Northern Harrier swivels across the fields, the first Song Sparrow vies for 
attention - and of course huge movements of Canada Geese - a heat-haze contorts 
the frozen ground - there's no denying it - Spring has arrived at Reesor Pond - 
the pond lies just north of Hwy 407 on Reesor Road in Markham - Stan Long
ps - one strange duck - mainly white [not leucistic] - a hybrid of uncertain
