Hi Everyone
In spite of the continuing cool weather a surprise find yesterday, April 27th,
a male Hooded Warbler was found by Stephen Phillips in the Ottawa area. The
bird was found and photographed in the Fallowfield area off Steeple Hill
Crescent along the Jock River at Terry Carisse Park. This represents the
earliest spring occurrence for this very rare visitor to the Ottawa-Gatineau
district. Previous earliest record, May 7,1994 at Clyde Ave Woods, Ottawa.
Good birding,
Bruce

Direction: From Ottawa take Hwy 417 west to Hwy 416 south to Fallowfiled Road.
Turn right and follow west past Moodie Drive and watch for Steeple Hill
Crescent and turn left. The park is on your left as you cross over the Jock
River.
