Ontbirds subscribers, The three male Harlequin Ducks reported to the west of Thickson Point this morning by Mark Kubisz were still present at 6:45 p.m. this evening. They were a little farther west than where he described this morning. Take the Waterfront Trail west from the cul-de-sac at the bottom of Thickson Rd. S. until you near the end of the large berm surrounding the south end of the Gerdau steel recycling plant. On the south side of the trail you will find first a gazebo and then a little farther west a bench near the bluff over the lake and reviewing stand with two fixed metal binocular viewing scopes (blurry and nearly useless). All three Harlequin Ducks were together directly off shore about 50 metres from this point.
