Shortly before sunset this evening there was an alternate-plumaged Red Knot on the beach just west of the "old" provincial park (i.e., the disjunct western section of the park west if Old Cut).
The knot was associating with a single Dunlin. I think it's unlikely they'll be there in the morning but one never knows. It was a birdy day here with lots of late-migrating warblers and flycatchers, including an Acadian and several Yellow-bellied. Good birding!
