Directions: South from Stella to 2nd Concession, right on 2nd Concession
and proceed West to McGinn where you turn south and go to 550 and watch the
guy wires. The first half of the bird's loud song is very much like that of
a Cardinal and can be heard from far off.
I only post this message because the hay on the whole island is largely
uncut and birding for regular grassland birds is wonderful. The hay must be
cut soon, though, and it will be like the Ferndale Dickcissels all over
again. Almost all of Northumberland County, for example, is already cut.
If one needs this bird, one should probably go soon. .
