| Dave Pryor and I just observed one of the alternate plumage Pacific Loons‎ in Barrie on Kempenfelt Bay. The bird was in with a huge flock of Common Loons and observed from the trail on the North side of Kempenfelt Bay moving slowly east. Park in the public lot at the corner of Shanty Bay Rd. and Johnson St. The trail runs parallel to the bay. Scan the large flock of loons to your left, a scope is a must. The bird may also be visible from Minet Point Park on the south side of the bay.
