There were two Red-necked Phalaropes swimming in the Tavistock sewage lagoons
after 7:00 pm this evening.  They were in the large eastern lagoon and visible
with scope from outside the fence.  Although water levels are high, also
present along the lagoon fringes was a smattering of yellowlegs of both species
and a Least Sandpiper, as well as common resident shorebirds and waterfowl.

Directions: From the lights at the main intersection of Tavistock go about 6
blocks east along Hope Street (a.k.a. Perth-Oxford Road / Road 24  to the west,
and Road 101 to the east), and turn south on Road 14.  Travel about 0.75 km to
a public-access trail. Park and walk west along the trail for a few hundred
metres.  The fenced lagoons are on the south side; use discretion regarding
access.
