Dear Ontbirders, This message has been approved by the Ontbirds moderator. The OBRC held its annual general meeting on Sunday March 6th. The OBRC would like to thank all members who have provided information or submitted rare bird reports; the OBRC would not function without your support. The OBRC would like to continue to encourage observers to submit any records that haven't been submitted from 2015/2016 to the OBRC (http://www.ofo.ca/site/Obrcreport).
Ron Ridout and Bruce Di Labio's terms on the committee have finished, and as such I'd like to thank them for their great work. With two vacant positions on the OBRC, the OBRC has elected Paul Pratt and Josh Vandermeulen to 3 year terms, commencing in 2016. The OBRC made several changes to the review lists, including the following: 1. Cave Swallow and Black-headed Gull have been added onto the south review list, effective 1 January 2016. 2. Fish Crow has been removed from the south review list, effective 1 January 2016 3. Pink-footed Goose, Eurasian Dotterel, Little Egret, and Kelp Gull have been added to the Ontario checklist, bringing the cumulative Ontario checklist to 494 species. The meeting minutes from the OBRC AGM will be posted shortly on the OFO website under the OBRC; any OFO members with comments/questions/feedback are greatly encouraged to let the OBRC know.
