Birding in the Point Pelee area is a lot of fun this morning! The weather is
beautiful with warm sun and a light breeze. Although there are not too many
songbirds in the park, there are some very notable species in the area.

The Black-necked Stilt that has been around for a few days has been present at
Hillman Marsh since sunrise, and has recently been seen in the shorebird cell.
The Piping Plover with leg bands that was found yesterday was found early this
morning at Seacliffe beach beside the ferry dock of Leamington Marina.

Within Point Pelee National Park, there are fewer songbirds than recent days,
but some noteworthy individuals are present. Singles of Pine Warbler,
Black-and-white Warbler, Sedge Wren, and Red-headed Woodpecker were seen at The
Tip, and a White-eyed Vireo and Blue-winged Warbler were seen on Tilden's
Trail. There was a visible migration of raptors in the late morning, including
an adult Northern Goshawk, and a number of Broad-winged, Red-tailed,
Sharp-shinned, and Cooper's Hawks with quite a few Turkey Vultures.

Good Birding,
