Weather: A very similar day to yesterday with lots of sunshine and lower humidity. Winds were moderate to strong from the E which isn't a bad direction but not great for big flights. Temp never got above 18C. Raptor Observations: A smaller flight today with 259 birds...with TVs (47), Osprey (1), Bald Eagle (8), N. Harrier (39) which is pretty good for such a small overall flight, Sharpies (132), only a few Broadwings (13) and the exact same count for Redtails (13)...and A. Kestrels (4) and Merlin (2). Non-raptor Observations: Reported in the other category today...RT Hummingbird, Blue Jays, N. Flicker, Canada Geese, Winter Wren, Gray Catbird, American Goldfinch, Cedar Waxwings, Nashville Warbler, BT Green Warbler and a few A. Crows. Predictions: Windy from the SW and WSW which can be good at this time of the migration BUT looks like rain and even possibly thunderstorms in the morning and heavy cloud. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown (thebro...@ezlink.on.ca) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.on.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
