Hi Ontbirders: Large numbers of ducks continue to gather at the diminishing open water on both sides of Billings Bridge in Ottawa. Among the hundreds of Mallards and dozens of Black Ducks in the water and on the ice are a pair of Wood Duck, an American Wigeon and one female Red-breasted Merganser. The Ring-necked Duck that was present last week appears to have left. Good birding Peter Hall Directions: From Highway 417 in downtown Ottawa head south on Bank Street for about two km until it crosses over the Rideau River at Billings Bridge. There is parking on the nearby residential streets. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
