7 birders braved the forecasted poor weather yesterday to look for birds at the Leslie St Spit in Toronto. The weather ended up cooperating (no rain). Although it was a little slow, we still managed a good mix of birds. Highlights included an American Bittern, 2 Short-billed Dowitchers, nice looks at an early Semipalmated Sandpiper, a Red-throated Loon and 2 cooperative Cape May Warblers.
Hopefully the weather will be a little better in September for the fall Toronto Islands OFO trip.
