While there was no evidence of a mass migration overnight some exciting birds
were seen at Point Pelee this morning. Warbler numbers are picking up with 13
species seen so far.

The Tilden Trail was the hotspot with KENTUCKY WARBLER; LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH;
and NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH. The Kentucky was just north of the intersection of
the Shuster Trail. The two Waterthrushes were moving back and forth between the
slough just south of the bench on the Tilden Trail and in the slough at the
east end of the seasonal trail.

It is unusual to see HAIRY WOODPECKER in Point Pelee, but one was seen near the
east seasonal trail off of the Tilden Trail. Also seen were both WHITE-BREASTED
and RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH. A SOLITARY SANDPIPER is still being seen in the
slough north of the bridge.

The YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT continued to show well in the north-east corner of the
Cactus Field off of the Chinquapin Trail. A HOODED WARBLER was seen in the same
area.
