Sorry, should have called the location Woodbine Beach, which is immediately east of Ashbridge’s Bay.
Tern wasn’t there when I went back this afternoon. From: Helmuth Schumann Sent: Thursday, May 11, 2017 11:42 AM To: birdalert@ontbirds.ca Subject: Suspected Roseate Tern at Ashbridge's Bay At 1000 this morning I observed a small tern perched on top of one of the volleyball poles just SW of the Woodbine bathing station, where the gulls and Caspian Terns are loafing on the sandbank. Tail was VERY long, thin and feathery, extending at least 4 cm beyond the wingtips. Bill slim (not like Forster’s) and black/red colour. Legs orangey. Am uncertain of my ID because it seemed so small, but then I was comparing it with the Caspians nearby. Would be interested if any tern experts can find it and verify or otherwise!
