Spring migration continues at a steady pace with 21 species of warblers reported from various parts of the Park, with Tilden and Woodland Nature Trails being the most productive. The warblers were feeding up high in the canopy. Multiple PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS are being reported from Bridges A and F along the Woodland Nature Trail. In Tilden's the highlights were BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, BLACKPOLL WARBLER, BAY-BREASTED WARBLER and WHITE-EYED VIREO.
A BELL'S VIREO was reported along the main road approximately 500 metres south of the Visitor Centre. Unfortunately, it hasn't been relocated yet! A HORNED GREBE was observed off White Pine beach. Other species of interest included NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD, LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, BLACK TERN, TUFTED TITMOUSE, BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO and RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD. Still lots of birds to come! NOTICE: Anyone signed up for the FoPP hikes this weekend should plan to arrive at least 1 hour before your hike time. At 7:00 a.m. today all parking spaces south of Black Willow were full. Point Pelee has implemented a shuttle service to bring people from the distant parking lots to the Visitor's Centre.
