Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Cindy Cartwright

Observers: Michael Williamson, Rick Brown

Visitors:
Chris Craft visited for a short time in the morning. Several people came up
over the course of the day including visitors from Austin TX who told us
about their hawk watching in Corpus Christi.

Weather:
The EC weather forecast was not to be - the wind was only from the north
for the 1st hour then swung east then south for much of the day.

Although the visibility was excellent in 3 directions, the view to the
south was limited to <5km in the afternoon due to fog and haze. And it was
HOT on the tower - 29C for several hours before a sudden temperature
plunge.

Raptor Observations:
11 species counted today. The first raptor of the day was a local (not
counted) juvenile BE that flew past about 50 feet from the tower at eye
level - fantastic look!

The final raptor of the day was a ML trying to take out the resident BEKI,
which only managed to survive by diving underwater in the pond.

A fairly quiet day otherwise.

Non-raptor Observations:
A good push of warblers, vireos and empids in the willows below the tower
early in the morning. See the list of non raptors at
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39135472

Predictions:
Once again the forecast is for clear skies and northeast winds but the
humidity will be very high.

If it's accurate, there could be a good flight.
