Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Cindy Cartwright, Jeremy Hatt, Jim McCoy, Patrick Tomlinson,
                  Paul Pratt, Steve Wagner

Visitors:
Many visitors for the Hawk Festival up on the tower today enjoying the sun.
Unfortunately there weren't too many hawks to enjoy along with it.

Weather:
Hot, sunny, almost cloudless skies with the slightest breeze from the SE. A
very warm day up on the hawk tower.

Raptor Observations:
Relatively slow day for raptor numbers today with the poor migration
weather. By mid-morning, most birds had already moved far to the north
where you needed binoculars to see many of them. Majority of the birds were
Sharpies, but there was some other diversity. One adult Red-shouldered Hawk
was a nice treat as it is still relatively early for them.

Non-raptor Observations:
Good diversity of dabbling ducks in the marsh, although total numbers seem
relatively low. A single Green Darner, two each of Black Saddlebags and and
Twelve-spotted Skimmer, along with three Monarchs making up the insects
observed migrating.
