Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 13:30:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Bob Hall-Brooks, Carol Pitts, Ed Pitts, Jerry Lippert,
                  Patrick Tomlinson, Steve Wagner

Visitors:
There was a couple from London, ON, up on the tower for a little while
today. Unfortunately there weren't many raptors for them to see.

Weather:
The first hour of counting was lightly raining off-and-on. Wind was barely
present, but variable when it was. There was about an hour when the wind
switched to the north, which was one of the most productive hours of the
day. Around 2pm local time the rain started back up again, and radar was
showing that it would stay for awhile so the count was ended at 2:30 local
time.

Raptor Observations:
Low raptor numbers today, Sharpies being most abundant. One interesting
sight of the day, was 4 Bald Eagles riding a thermal up and streaming out -
very much like the expected Broad-winged Hawk kettles. This is the first
time I've noticed Bald Eagles "kettling".

Non-raptor Observations:
Today was not only slow for raptors, but also for passerines. Although, 14
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were observed, as well as 99 Cedar Waxwings. For
the full eBird checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39261760 8
Monarchs were counted today in between the rainy periods.

Predictions:
Winds starting out in the NE, but switching to SE throuhgout the day.
Unfortunately, there is a good chance of rain all day.
