 Hi folks:   Today while scouting for the OFO bird walk (this coming Saturday 
Sept 23rd at 8 am from Rock Point PP), we found some interesting shorebirds.    
If you are participating at this Saturday OFO birds outing at ROCK Point PP. { 
see map above for meeting at 8 am!} Please read all these instructions:    1) 
Ensure you have registered for the OFO's  AGM at Long point Provincial Park 
this weekend; and, on Saturday Morning ( by 8 am) meet at the Entrance to Rock 
Point PP.   Please...Please stay on Downey Rd.   Do Not enter the PP before you 
are given instructions.    2) It is an all day Field trip with the following 
possible ITINERARY..          a) Rock Point PP ( from 8 to 10 am ) a walk of 
some 2-3 km. It will be HOT, bring water.          b) Port Maitland - Feeder 
Canal Rd and Mosaic ( from 10 to 11 am).              Because of safety 
concerns (( Hard Hats, Safety Glasses, Emergency jackets cannot be provided for 
45 people that have signed up for this outing!; so we will do our best to see 
the birds here.))          c) Hutchinson Rd/ Poth Rd... Sod farms ( from 11 to 
11:50 am)                NB: we may be able to squeeze a visit to the Quarry 
lagoons on Quarry Rd, near Port Colborne.          d) Drive to Jarvis for a 
lunch break ( you are encouraged to bring your own lunch with plenty of water; 
although, there are many eateries in Jarvis ) from 12:15 to 1 pm           e) 
After Lunch, we will visit Townsend Sewage Lagoons and surroundings, from 1:15 
to 3 pm              Afterwards everyone goes to AGM activities at LPBO, or go 
home!
Birds seen today... ( very few passerines, woods are  very quite...It Is HOT!)  
      1- One Red Knot and 9 BB Plovers at the shoreline in Rock Point PP ( also 
Spotted Sandpiper & Killdeer, of course [  there was NO SIGN of the reported 
Summer Tanager today! ]                    here is the ebird list  for our

         2) Two White-rumped Sandpipers, with Least & Semipalmated Sandpipers, 
& Greater + Lesser Yellow-legs, 3 Bald eagles, 3 Great Egrets, 3 Green Herons, 
an American Pipit, etc.. at the Mosaic Ponds         here is the ebird list for

         3- Three Golden Plovers, one BB Plover, etc. etc. at the SOD farms on

Saturday, please send me your ebird email, so that I can share this Saturday 
observations with you. We do not want 45 to 50 different ebird lists for the 
same time and place. You can add or delete your own bird observations to what I
