Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 6 hours

Official Counter: Cindy Isenhoff

Observers: Cramer

Visitors:
One couple from Zanesdale OH who have a cottage near Kingsville stopped by
for a short time.

Weather:
A dreary, hazy morning led to even worse conditions by noon with blustery
winds from the S or SW. Temperatures were mild all day. The constant rain
and blasting winds finally called the count short today.

Raptor Observations:
Very few raptors today in the mist, rain and steady south wind. Our
highlight came at the end of the day with a Peregrine Falcon in a small
group of Turkey Vultures right over the tower. Turkey Vultures were the
only bird seen in significant numbers today. Even they were back and forth
along the lake shore all morning before finally moving through.

Non-raptor Observations:
Song birds kept us going for the early morning. Around the tower we
enjoyed a flock of about 25 Ruby and Golden-crowned Kinglets foraging.
Tree Swallows were fighting the winds all day to find something to eat over
the marsh. Blue Jays were moving around. I saw my first of the fall
season White-throated Sparrows--both adult and first year birds. The marsh
had all the usual ducks, and a growing number of Mute Swans.
