Ontbirds subscribers,
About 4:40 p.m. I had a juvenile white morph Gyrfalcon fly past me at Thickson Point going due east over the lake. This late in the day one has to figure that this bird was headed for an overnight roosting site and I watched it fly straight toward the Darlington Nuclear Power facility before it cut in over land, making me wonder whether it might be roosting somewhere there. Another alternative would be the St. Mary's Cement plant a little further to the east. If you are birding the Durham waterfront tomorrow keep an eye on the sky. If this is not a bird just wandering it would be nice to pin down an evening roost site where many could predictably see it Glenn Coady Whitby _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
