Good Afternoon All, At this time, a male Snowy OwI is perched on a structure in a field on Lower Base Line West (east of Fourth Line) in Milton.
Directions: 401 to James Snow Parkway. JSP south to Britannia Road. Britannia Road west to Fourth Line. Fourth Line south to Lower Base Line West, Lower Base Line east to middle of open field/structure on north side of road. The bird was carrying a prey item (either a mouse or a vole) and did not remain very long, but just long enough to get a look at it's curved bill. Directions: Highway 60 to Algonquin Park. Mew Lake campground is approx. Km 30. Follow road in to campground, Old Airfield parking lot less than 1 km in on left (follow signs). By foot follow Old Railway Bike Trail (signs posted) to airfield. Permit required. Good Birding! The bird was located near the tracks on the southeast side of the parking lot. Directions: Meadowvale GO station is located at the foot of Aquitaine Avenue (at Millcreek Drive) in Mississauga. Take the 401 to the Erin Mills Parkway/Mississauga Road exit. Turn right (North) on Mississauga Road and follow to Derry Road West. Turn left (West) on Derry Road and follow to Millcreek Drive. Turn left (South) on Millcreek Drive and follow to Aquitaine Avenue. The Meadowvale GO station will be on your left-hand side. Good Birding!
