Once the sun came out a few others were down to the site as well. Weather: A bit of a weird day for weather with a mostly clouded over sky to start and then filling in completely just a couple of hours in. Temp was comfortable to start at 15C and remained steady around that with a slight drop when it clouded over completely. It didn't open up at all till mid-afternoon. Winds were favourable from the NW and then NNW and finally straight N. Raptor Observations: Not as many birds today as hoped for given the wind direction with a total of just 58.... a few each of various species with Osprey (2), Bald Eagles (13), N. Harriers (9), Sharpies (17), Broadwings (8), Am. Kestrels (5) and Merlin (4). A Peregrine was spotted heading east bound so was not included in today's count. Non-raptor Observations: Only non-raptor mentioned today was a Chimney Swift. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown (thebro...@ezlink.ca) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: http://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
