Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 17:00:00
Total observation time: 10 hours

Official Counter: Craig Evans

Observers:

Visitors:
A total of 10 visitors were at the tower today and most stayed for a number
of hours enjoying a great number of raptors flying over.

Weather:
The day began with moderate winds from the southwest with a temperature of
21.9 C and 75% cloud cover. At 8:00 am EST the winds switched to the west
and by 11:00 pm EST to the north and later the northeast. The winds
remained moderate to strong with gusts near 20 mph at times. Temperatures
fell throughout the day and cloud cover was at or near 100% but cleared in
the evening.

Raptor Observations:
A steady flow of raptor migrants were observed throughout the day after the
winds shifted. Turkey Vultures were observed in great numbers, as well as
American Kestrels and Sharp-shinned Hawks. 4 Peregrine Falcons were
observed today. A good number of Broad-winged Hawks were also observed.

Non-raptor Observations:
A noticeably change from a few days ago as many species are becoming more
sparse or not found at all, even in the morning with southern winds.

Blue Jays - 16 660
Monarchs - 12

Predictions:
The winds are expected to continue from the northeast tonight and into
tomorrow morning, which could mean another great day of raptors
observations. Temperatures will be around 15 C. By late morning the winds
will shift to the east, and then the southeast by mid afternoon warming
things up, with the possibility of a few showers.
