Weather: The day began with moderate winds from the southwest with a temperature of 21.9 C and 75% cloud cover. At 8:00 am EST the winds switched to the west and by 11:00 pm EST to the north and later the northeast. The winds remained moderate to strong with gusts near 20 mph at times. Temperatures fell throughout the day and cloud cover was at or near 100% but cleared in the evening. Raptor Observations: A steady flow of raptor migrants were observed throughout the day after the winds shifted. Turkey Vultures were observed in great numbers, as well as American Kestrels and Sharp-shinned Hawks. 4 Peregrine Falcons were observed today. A good number of Broad-winged Hawks were also observed. Non-raptor Observations: A noticeably change from a few days ago as many species are becoming more sparse or not found at all, even in the morning with southern winds. Blue Jays - 16 660 Monarchs - 12 https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S48935289 Predictions: The winds are expected to continue from the northeast tonight and into tomorrow morning, which could mean another great day of raptors observations. Temperatures will be around 15 C.
