Ontbirds subscribers,

This is more of a "heads-up" to alert observers to the fact that where there is
one alcid there may sometimes be others around for patient searchers.

Yesterday afternoon Carolyn Van Goch found a very freshly dead Dovekie hauled
out on the barrier beach that separates Corbett Creek Marsh from Lake Ontario
at Thickson Bay. The bird was quite dry and apparently had hauled itself out
well above the high water mark of the lake not very long before her discovery
of it. The specimen will be placed in the collection of the ROM.
