It's a beautiful morning at Point Pelee with reports of a good variety of
migrants coming in from all over the park. Highlights include: KENTUCKY WARBLER
early this morning, briefly at the Visitor Centre, male PROTHONOTARY WARBLER at
Bridge F on Woodland Trail, PRAIRIE WARBLER and YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT at Anders
Footpath halfway between Cemetery and DeLaurier, and HOODED WARBLER on
northwest side of White Pine parking lot. 2 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES in Tilden's
Woods and RED-HEADED WOODPECKER. BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO, VIRGINIA RAIL, and SORA
at East Beach end of Shuster. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW and a photogenic
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW at south end of West Beach parking lot. A RED-THROATED
LOON, BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, and AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER were seen at the tip.
With the north wind, several species of hawks are flying around towards the
tip, also SANDHILL CRANES and GREAT EGRETS.

We look forward to another excellent shorebirding day at Hillman Marsh and the
surrounding flooded fields. Yesterday, 7 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS and 1 AMERICAN
AVOCET were in flooded fields on Seacliff Drive, and 6 AMERICAN AVOCETS were at
Hillman Marsh.

With the warm temperatures, we anticipate a good AMERICAN WOODCOCK display
tonight at DeLaurier. Last night at DeLaurier, a Coyote flushed an AMERICAN
WOODCOCK, while other woodcocks did aerial displays, and the observers heard
WHIP-POOR-WILLS.

Campers at Camp Henry heard EASTERN SCREECH-OWL and GREAT HORNED OWLS during
the night.

Good Birding,
