Hey, Just a head's-up that conditions at the south end of Wildwood Lake, in the Ducks Unlimited impoundment pond, are excellent for shorebirds, with lots of open mudflats and good numbers of birds currently. Yesterday there were several hundred shorebirds present, although variety was pretty low - mostly Lesser Yellowlegs and Killdeer, with small numbers of Leasts, Solitaries, Semipal. Plover and a single adult Black-bellied Plover.
Lots of future potential. Directions:From hwy 401 turn north on Oxford County Rd. # 6 towards Stratford. About halfway between Embro and Stratford, turn West onto Oxford Rd 28. You will then pass through the small community of Harrington. Just through the community turn right onto rd. 3. Travel exactly 1 km north. On the east side of the road there is a berm dividing the lake from a containment pond Cheers, James Holdsworth, 'If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.'' - Ferdinand Porsche _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
