Hardly any clouds in the sky for the whole observation. Raptor Observations: Very slow today, with only 25 raptors observed. Highlights included Peregrine Falcon and a small push of Sharp-shinned Hawks later in the morning. Several "ticks of disappointment" today (one hour intervals without birds). Even the local Osprey and Bald Eagles were quiet today. Non-raptor Observations: It was a quiet day on the non raptor front as well, with lower numbers of warblers and other songbirds around the tower. 10 warbler species were recorded (vs 17 yesterday), with highlights being Wilson's and Blackpoll. Grey-cheeked Thrush, Purple Finch and Pectoral Sandpiper were other highlights. List available here -https://ebird.org/checklist/S193981958 Predictions: More of the same I expect, with winds out of the south tomorrow as well. Things may pick up towards the weekend, depending on rain. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Kiah Jasper ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
