Heavy overcast in early morning gave way to partly sunny patches in the early afternoon. Wind was light, with the occasional moderate gust, beginning NW and ending due N. Raptor Observations: A rather modest flight of limited variety given the favourable winds. Patches of rain into the pre-dawn hours and the ensuing high humidity made for an especially slow start. Non-raptor Observations: Highlights were about 2400 Blue Jays, one calling Greater Yellowlegs, and a few warblers. eBird list here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S196280500 Predictions: Stiff SE winds and possible storms are forecast. Raptors fond of cliff updrafts (possibly a Peregrine or two?) could show in the drier spells. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Chris Burris ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
