Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Chris Burris

Observers: Ken Wootton, Tom Bolohan

Visitors:
A steady stream on this holiday Monday.

Weather:
The rain overnight was done by sunrise. Overcast gave way to partly sunny
skies mid-morning. Temp rose from a chilly 4C to 11C. Wind was moderate
with occasional gusts, mostly from the north, ending NNW.

Raptor Observations:
Thanks a ton to Tom B. and Ken W. for spotting and counting today -- you
were both amazing!

Certainly the standout count day of the season -- just shy of a five-digit
total (Thanks TVs!). The highlight was a subadult light morph Swainson's
Hawk at 1245p EST that took interest in one of the banding stations and
even perched briefly in a nearby tree before heading west. Multiple record
shots taken. 5 Golden Eagles and 2 Peregrine Falcons were happy bonuses.

Non-raptor Observations:
A single, satellite-height Sandhill Crane, a few warblers, and a late
Monarch (also wayyy up) were also noted. eBird list here:
https://ebird.org/checklist/S198945339

Predictions:
Partly sunny and moderate N to NW winds are predicted -- sounds good!
