Would you retain most of C# syntax   and  add additional ones ?

This is a huge job but  you may be able to reuse parts of monos c# compiler
the obvious benefit are
- Every C# program can be recompiled and immediately gets the benefit of
region analysis  ( think hand held apps thats going to be worth something
immediately to developers)  and you can optomize  hotspots with better
value type support .
-  A huge amount of C# developes will look at it ( and  quite a few java
developers a lot of java people are looking for something new but C# is
just too close to Java as far as they are concerened ) .   This equates to
a quick community .
