this paper has Gel which is a subset of C# with a new hybrid kind of
memory management. it performs well. it sounds good up to the point
where they say:
"If a destroyed object has a non-zero reference count, a run-time
error occurs and the program is terminated; it is the programmer's
responsibility to avoid this condition." :-{
