i am not a super hard-core emacs user, but i am emacs over any other unixy tty editor (vi, vim, ed, whatever). i am very opinionated about ui/ux. i know that my fingers are used to emacs, but i know, daily, that emacs is full of utterly horrible ui/ux problems.
i think: * that your target audience is nerds who already know enough to have chosen emacs vs. vim, rather than e.g. grandmas who only know how to "program in html, css, and javascript" :-) * if you do not have a basic emacs mode for bit-c, that is a fail, at least for me! * but you should not bet the farm on emacs only. at least also have a vim mode. * ideally have either an eclipse or intellij mode after that. either one, whichever, whatever. * i think having emacs+vim minimally implemented is more important than having emacs fully implemented, for example. $0.02 _______________________________________________ bitc-dev mailing list [email protected] http://www.coyotos.org/mailman/listinfo/bitc-dev
