I tried this dd and netcat technique. Worked an absolute charm, just changed the hostname and IP, and i was totally up and running. But as the guy says in the article, it's better to do it, partition by partition to save time. i was lazy and just did the whole drive. 80GB drive, bit by bit, over our somewhat underdeveloped hub infested, packet hell network... Started it on the thursday and it was finished for me coming in on the monday morning!
