I know where you are coming from, and I cant say I disagree, but what I am concerned about is that we start getting hammered with ads for switches and routers and UPSes and what all else, simply because, hey, those can be used for voip as well.
Cant say I have an opinion on the matter just yet, but some discussion on the manner might be useful, to get a sense of what people think, and thus form a set of guidelines. You need a server for VoIP, although preferably a rack mounted one and not this beast.
