Intermediate Network Administrator
Location: Toronto, ON.
Salary: 55K

Job Description:

To deliver appropriate and timely 2nd and 3rd level support to
internal customers; including upgrading, installing, configuring and
supporting of all desktop applications, VoIP telephony and
PCs/laptops, and to ensure the team deliver a safe, secure, stable and
managed desktop environment for the client's data center.

This role is responsible for both ensuring all tickets are logged, and
also as an escalation point for the IS Service Desk (based in the UK),
who receive, log and troubleshoot all incidents. This is a hands-on
position whereby many tasks will be completed locally to the users.

Responsibilities:

- Resolve end-user requests relating to the building, upgrading,
installation and configuration of the Corporate Desktop Environment
and escalating any unresolved issues as appropriate
- Work closely with, and provide back up, support and training to the
IS Service Desk function
- Ensure that appropriate back-up and DR processes are completed as
agreed, to ensure Business Continuity
- Provide basic end-user training on all standard company applications
- Carry out route-cause analysis, and provide detailed technical
documents with accompanying fixwork-around for recurring issues
- Liaise with Back Office, Business Applications and Security support
teams in order to ensure timely resolution to incidents.
- Help design and implement new strategies for the improvement of the
Desk-Side and Service Desk support functions.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and general administrative
tasks relating to desktop services, procurement and remote assistance
- escalating any problems

Requirements:

Must have:

∙ College degree in IT related field or relevant work experience
∙ Minimum 3 + years of experience as a network administrator for
50-100 minimum end-user environment.
∙ VoIP work experience in Asterisk Telephony or similar system A MUST
∙ Knowledge of best practices relating to Security/ITIL

Desired:

∙ Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (XP, AD etc)
∙ Solid knowledge of Exchange, File and Print Services
∙ Good working knowledge of Terminal Services
∙ Able to prioritize workloads and work with minimum supervision
∙ Capable of working on own initiative as well as within a team

Nice To have:

∙ Experience in supporting CISCO network devices
∙ Experience with Group Policy, scripting and automated software deployment
∙ PC support experience gained from within an IT department with at
least 300 users
∙ Multi-site/Domain support experience
∙ MCSE certified
