Alex,

Easiest way is to reserve an IP for the machine in your DHCP server utilizing the servers MAC address.

Assuming your router is linux it would look like this:

     host AsteriskServerName{
               hardware ethernet 00:00:00:aa:aa:aa;
               *fixed*-address 192.168.0.160;
       }

Hello

Just wondering if anyone can help:

I am trying to bind a local Linux machine to a fixed local IP address
(e.g. 192.168.0.160) -- so that it does not change an IP every time I
restart it.

Any idea how I can do it? Thanks.
