Hello,

Anyone else out there running VoIP on IPv6 in production?

Earlier this week, I turned up a customer with a Snom M9r connecting to
our hosted PBX natively over IPv6. I'm hoping to migrate our entire
network in a year or two. Some of the barriers I have are:

-Lack of IPv6 capable endpoints. Yealink claims to be IPv6 (what a
joke!), Snom M9r actually works, as do Mediatrix gateways. Aastra and
Polycom have told me they are working on it for the last three years.

-Lack of IPv6 availability from ISPs. I think Teksavvy will give you
IPv6 if you ask them nicely. Some metro Ethernet providers will too.
At the moment, the only customers of ours that have native IPv6 are the
ones on our own access network (mostly Canopy, some fiber).

I'm very excited about eliminating NAT headaches, and being able to
access the web interface of any phone from our NOC. Mostly, I'm hoping
to phase out IPv4 as much as possible, so we can move on and only
maintain one network in a much simpler way than we do now.

Has anyone else found solutions for these issues, or am I breaking new
ground here?

Thanks !

-Tim
