Thanks to all who replied.
Yes we are after a quote.
Here is what we need (we'll provide the contractor with a root access).
This is a dedicated mail server (RH 7.3.)
We must be able to
1. Add new domains to it and specify the number of mail boxes allowed per
domain. (Command line is fine for this one).
From a web admin
2. Clients (domain owners) must be able to add new users/mail boxes to
their domain
3. Unlimited email aliases
4. Email forwarding
POP, SMTP (with Authentication)
Web mail.
Thanks,
Guen
This isn't really a topic for bizops-list -- things like this should
either be on discuss-list or something like [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Every distribution of every version of Linux and Unix comes with mail
server software built in. Check the documentation for your distribution
to see what you've got. Most likely, it's sendmail, and you can get
details on its operation by reading the man pages or the documentation
at www.sendmail.org.
For simple web-based administration, you might want to switch to qmail,
which has alot of tools built for people who can't (or don't want to)
handle the less user friendly configuration of sendmail.
Your best bet will probably be to hire a professional to set this stuff
up for you (which I guess is where this gets on-topic for the list). If
this is something you'd be interested in, let the list know you're in
the market for quotes, and see what flows in.
