Hey everyone,

If you've been watching the news lately, you know that McCain-Palin and their
right-wing attack dogs will say and do anything to win this election. From
their convention to this day, the GOP has fiercely attacked Sen. Obama in a
desperate attempt to distract us from the gross failures of their policies at
home and abroad. The depth of their distortions challenges the idea that truth
even matters in politics. Well, Carolina students deserve better than the
'blizzard of lies' McCain-Palin offers in this election and we're ready to work
for the change we need.

TAKE ACTION

1) VOLUNTEER: You can volunteer anytime Mon-Fri from 9AM-8PM. Just email [EMAIL
PROTECTED] with specific times that you would like to volunteer (i.e. Wed,
12-2pm). For this week, volunteers will be passing out pro-Democratic
literature, call undecided North Carolinians, register new voters. You can also
just drop by our office (Union Rm 3512E) anytime to volunteer even if you
haven't signed up. No experience required!

2) EXPAND OUR NETWORK: Help us spread the word about voter registration, early
voting, and upcoming events by using this link to invite your friends to the
'UNC Young Democrats' Facebook group -
http://www.new.facebook.com/groups/edit.php?gid=2200078429&members=1.

3) FLOOD PIT ON MONDAY: Good Morning America is shooting a special on the youth
vote tomorrow (Mon) and will be following us around all day. We want to show
them how we do it big at Carolina with a huge presence in the Pit. Come out
between 11:00AM - 1:30PM tomorrow wearing your YD/Obama shirts, fired up and
ready to go. They will also be shooting our Monday meeting tomorrow night at
8pm so make sure you come out (details below).

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

Monday, Sep 15 - The Iraq War: A Veteran's Perspective: Join us for our next
weekly General Body Meeting tomorrow (Mon) at 8pm in Murphey 116. We will be
joined by representatives from NC Veterans for Obama who will be discussing US
National security, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the plight of our
veterans at home. As always, we will briefly review our progress on campus and
discuss the state of the national campaign. Bring your friends and get them
involved in this historic campaign!

and other Democrats statewide.

Friday to go door-to-door for Barack Obama in Raleigh. Rides will be provided.
