>From the editors:
The differences between Obama and McCain's health care plans couldn't be more
stark. Obama's plan would cover about 94 percent of adults, greatly reducing
the number of uninsured individuals and families in America. McCain's would do
little to change the number of uninsured and would make it extremely difficult
for those with pre-existing conditions to get coverage. Obama's plan would add
a safety net for those who don't have employer-paid health insurance; McCain's
plan would gut employer-paid health insurance. Obama's plan would strengthen
Medicare and Medicaid; McCain's plan would slash their funding by $1.3
trillion.
We'll continue our analysis of the candidates' health care plans through the
election. And if you still have unanswered questions about the differences
between Obama and McCain's health proposals, I highly encourage you to check
out Stand Up For Health Care, a new blog of the nonprofit Families USA.
