My ewe is still sick. I have given her probiotics for 3 days in a row now. Two weeks ago I had her at the vets and they said she was wormy, enimic and had bottle jaw (he told me it was edema). She has been wormed twice since. Had some other meds, including vit b shots and a high calorie paste that comes in a tube that she gets just a little bit at a time. She has diarhea bad. I am now giving her kaopectate, again. At the beginning of her illness I tried it and it didn't help any, but trying it again. The bottle jaw had gone but looks like it is starting to develop again. Any suggestions from anyone? She is not eating much, doesn't seem interested, she noses it around. She is eating a little more than she was last week but not much improvement. She is isolated from the rest of the sheep.
This will most likely be the last time I will be writing here for some time. The sister-in-law and her husband has decided that all sheep have to go. They want nothing but the llamas on the place. So, we will be in the process of selling one 3-yr-old ram with a nice rack, 4 ewes (not including the sick one), one 2-yr-old and one 8-9 month old wether. All American Blackbelly. My original ewe is going back to my friend's where she came from, but they don't have room for the others. This has not made me very happy at all. I love the sheep, but it is their property and as she said, their decision, period.
