It sounds like the sting site encapsulated.  This happens a lot.  I had 
one with her entire head swelled up.  I gave her antibiotics, Banamine 
and cortisone.  Too many anti-inflammatories and she died in 3 days.  
Cortisone or Banamine.  Banamine is non-steroid inflammatory.
